Children & Youth Book Clubs

General Book Club Info

Space is limited for all book clubs so if you’d like to come registration is required. Registration for the month begins on the first of that month. You can RSVP here.

All our book clubs are free and open to both Steinbach residents and non-residents.

*If you don’t have a copy of the book and would like to join book club, please email Steph at smclean@jakeepplibrary.com after registering to make arrangements! A library membership is NOT required to join book club, but IS required for borrowing a copy of the book*

Middle Grade Book Club for Grade 4+

Read at home at your leisure, and join us to discuss the book at the meeting.

Held the last Thursday of the month Sep-Jun

7:00-7:45pm – Grades 4+

* For this club, children may be dropped off and picked up. Children in Grade 4+ may come and go on their own, with parent permission.

Grade 2-5 Chapter Book Club

Read at home at your leisure, and join us to discuss the book at the meeting.

Held the last Wednesday of the month from 6-6:45 p.m.

Read at home and join us to discuss the book and do fun activities related to it. For this club, children in Grade 2/3 may be dropped off at the activity room door (caregivers are not required to attend) however you will need to sign them in/out and remain inside the library. Children in Grade 4+ may come and go on their own, with parent permission.

Elementary Book Club

This book club is intended for children in elementary school who are beginner readers or confident readers, but not yet ready for a traditional book club (reading the story at home before attending).

Held the second Wednesday of the month from 5:30-6:15 p.m.

In this book we’ll read a story together out loud, discuss the story, and do activities based on it.
