The Jake Epp Library in Steinbach, MB hosts multiple book clubs each month for youth & adults.
Starting in January 2024, we will be hosting 3 adult book clubs each month.
6:00pm on the last Wednesday of the month (adults only, must be 16+ to attend).
7:00pm on the last Wednesday of the month (adults only, must be 16+ to attend).
9:30am on the last Friday of the month (this is a child-friendly book club, adults are welcome to bring children with them if they do not have childcare. We will have playtime set up for young children while adults discuss the book)
Adults may attend just one, or multiple, book clubs each month.
If you require a copy of the book, please bring your library card with you. The library will have a limited number of books to check out to book club participants each month (available to check out starting the last week of the previous month).

Book Club Kits

If you would like to submit a Book Club Kit Request, forms are available at the library or are printable using this pdf, Book Club Kit Request Form. Forms may be submitted in-person, by phone (204-326-6841), by email (librarian@jakeepplibrary.com), or by fax (204-326-6859).

Starting Your Own Book Club?

  • NoveList Plus – login with your library card number, the whole thing with no spaces.
    Includes book reviews, read-alikes, author biographies and discussion questions.
  • GoodReads – Includes reader reviews, trivia, reading lists, etc.  You can choose to sign up and share book lists.
  • BookClubs.ca – Focuses on Canadian titles and includes reading guides, information about author events, and books in the news.
  • BookTalk.org – An online book club that anyone can join.
  • Oprah’s Book Club – Includes recommended book lists, author interviews and more.
  • BookBrowse.com – Includes reviews, previews, stories behind the books, author interviews, reading guides, and more.
  • Mostly, we eat!– A long-running book club that includes recommended reads and advice on starting a book club.
